This is gonna be weird and random, but I just wanna tell you that you're the person that got me into HP. I started following you because of bethyl and read your bio and saw you ship snamione. Snamione seemed like such a promising ship I decided to read all the books and watch all the movies. This was a bunch of months ago, but the ship and the books have given me so much comfort through some really hard times so thaaaannnk you😭💕

I wouldn't normally send someone an ask like this, but you seem like you'd appreciate knowing you made someone else happy. So just know you did.

Holy hell, it’s been way too long since I’ve been sent this ask, so my apologies I’m just getting to this now.

This made my day when I first read it, and it’s warms my heart when I saw this again.

The movies and snamione got me through some hard times and it was my first ship. It holds a special place in my heart. Likewise for Bethyl. I think it’s cool my blog inspired someone to check snamione out, cause they are simply divine.

Welcome to the club, I do appreciate your post ❤😁

do you think that with how much time has passed in the show, and beth being a lot older now, like in her 30s or very late 20s that the audience who denied bethyl when still aired will be more open to their relationship as she will be well into adulthood now. just a thought i had as most of the people who deny they were romantic use the argument that she was ‘too young’

twdmusicboxmystery answered:

Yes and no.

So, I remember there being really two kinds of people who were against Beth and Daryl romantically.

The first were people with genuine and understandable concerns. Back when S4 was airing, I worked with a woman who had a daughter who was eighteen. She watched the show and told me she loved Daryl, but she didn’t like the idea of him and Beth because she had a daughter that age and would be very uncomfortable if her daughter started dating a 30-year-old.

image

My arguments there are

1) while I understand the worry there in our current society, we’re dealing with the apocalypse in TWD, which is a whole different monster. What if there really AREN’T any other men around. As long as he’s genuine and the relationship is healthy (i.e. he’s not a creeper) I don’t see the problem. And

2) this worry speaks to my friend’s daughter’s maturity. I would argue she was worried about her daughter because her daughter just didn’t have the emotional maturity to date someone that much older than her. That’s also a valid concern in general, but not one that applies to Beth and Daryl.

So, there was this kind of person who had valid reasons for not liking Bethyl as a romance, even if I didn’t agree with their arguments. I think this type of person will come around, as you said, because Beth is so much older now and even Daryl has grown a great deal in maturity and experience. So for this type of person, the answer to your question is yes.

Unfortunately, the other type of person who opposed the ship are those who either shipped Daryl with someone else–anyone else–or who just hated Beth as a character. All characters have their diehard fans and their illogical haters. Beth is no different. These fans claimed ridiculous things like pedophilia because it was a convenient reason to hate the ship and they knew better than to admit how petty they were and that the real reason is that they were having temper tantrums because they couldn’t have their way and have Daryl be with the person they wanted.

This type of person will never come around. They’ll scream to high heaven about how the show has disrespected them and how traumatized they are because their ship never went canon.

So, I guess we just need to be prepared for both. I’ve always said, and I still believe that 99% of the GA will be on board when Beth returns. Despite the haters being very loud on social media, we’ve given evidence time and time again that proves that MOST people were fine with Beth, and MOST people just want Daryl to find his happy ending. Most of them don’t even care who it’s with. So, when Beth returns, people will remember S4, finally realize how long this has been in the works, and jump right aboard the ship.

But in the background, we’ll still have to deal with the screamers. Unfortunately. But who cares? It won’t bother me because Daryl will finally be with his soulmate.

Beth is going to be so devastated when she learns that most of the people from her family (TF) are gone and dead; Tyreese and Sasha, Bob, and especially Glenn who’s basically her brother in-law. Can you imagine her learning about what happened to Carl who was practically like a little brother to her? She’s definitely going to cry and we’ll be crying with her, and let’s not forget the look we’ll see on her face when she sees Judith grown up because the last time Beth had seen her was when she was a baby who couldn’t walk yet and this was at the prison before it’s destruction. After her reveal, looking back at the deleted scene of her and Carl from season 3 will definitely hit different. At least she still has some people she knows; her own sister Maggie and her nephew Hershel, Rick, Michonne, Carol, and Daryl

twdmusicboxmystery answered:

Yeah, agreed. I always imagine a conversation where she and Daryl swap stories and talk about everyone they’ve lost. It will definitely be sad to go back and watch her scenes with various characters, knowing that she won’t see so many of them every again. 😭

Good point. Xoxo! 🎆💝

loved the thought of the beth reveal at comic con. but as you said, the event is iffy. the mention of the theme of fear, you have to go back to go forward, reminded me of norman saying his spin off is a RESET. i'm hanging onto that word!

twdmusicboxmystery answered:

Yeah, the reset thing is probably a bigger deal than we’ve given it credit for.

Why? Because after Coda, with 5x09 WHAWGO, several of the actors tried to talk about it being a reset, and Gimple shushed them, telling them not to talk about that.

Now, most of us TDers hoped the reset them mentioned was about going back to find out what really happened to Beth, but obviously that hasn’t happened yet.

Now, it feels like that might have signalled the beginning of the time without Beth on the show. With Norman now calling the spinoff another reset, I can’t help but think it signals the time when she’ll be back.

And I don’t think the ‘reset’ terminology is ONLY about Beth. I think it’s about a lot of things. After Coda, the characters were very lost and floundering. And even though there were ups and downs, good times and bad, overall it went very downhill. More and more people dying. Communities being lost. Characters losing themselves and their happiness. Carol and Zeke broke up. (Make no mistake, the show can’t end until that’s remedied; Zeke and Carol are soulmates.) Ultimately, Rick and Michonne disappeared and now, from TF’s point of view, so has Daryl.

So a reset may also be about finally finding people, including the characters finding themselves. A return of happiness, of people, of family, of communities. But obviously Beth would be a big part of that. It also probably signals the beginning of the CRM war.

So yeah. The reset terminology is a big deal. We really ought to pay more attention to it.

Thanks for pointing it out, Nonny! Xoxo! 🎆💗

The spin-off premiers September 9. Emily's new album comes out September 22. One day before the premier of episode 3. Doesn't that seem coordinated to you? My hope is that at least the audience will see Beth in episode 1, but that Beth and Daryl won't meet again until episode 3.

twdmusicboxmystery answered:

Yeah, it definitely feels coordinated.

The other thing is, Daryl Dixon is airing earlier than we predicted. It will be in September, rather than October.

Now, obviously I’m not complaining, but the back half of Fear will air right after the first season of DD. It just feels like they’ve done that on purpose because there will be something in Fear that we can’t see until after we’ve seen the first season of the Daryl spinoff.

It all feels very coordinated. No way to know for sure, of course, but I’m with ya, Nonny. Fingers crossed! 🤞 Xoxo! 🎆💞

Thoughts on a Beth is alive reveal at Comic Con?

twdmusicboxmystery

I am wondering what your theorist thoughts are on the likelihood of a Beth is alive reveal this year at Comic Con?

If I were among TPTB, I WOULD do the reveal there for several reasons.

First, the amount of publicity would be outrageous.  Even though TWD flagship retained a certain audience until the end, it was nowhere near the audience it had at its peak in seasons 3-6.  Bringing a character back from the heyday may attract some of the viewers that fell away especially after seasons 6 and 7.  This is different than reveals for the flagship.  They already had a built-in audience and an ensemble cast and stories to carry the show.  If the audience thinks the spin-off will just be Darly fighting zombies in berets, many may not tune in for a repeat of the last four or five seasons of the flagship series.  However, if they think he may finally get a real love interest, find clues about the outbreak, and discover what really happened to Beth and where she has been all these years it will create enough suspense for the GA to give it a try.

image

Second, it clearly ties into the theme of the last season of FTWS. “You have to go back to go to forward.“  Morgan had to go back to King County. There he discovered what he THOUGHT happened to Duane is not what really happened.  Dwight is saying that he wants to go home.  Madison has to go back and fix her wrongs. There is a return back to where these characters were at the beginning of their arcs, but now they are wiser and stronger.

image

Third, if they wait until into the Daryl spin-off is actually airing, it will not give the audience time to get reacquainted with Beth’s story.  By revealing that she is alive (but not giving much away in terms of story), they will still get the shock value of when and how she is found, the publicity BEFORE the show starts, and give the audience a chance to reconnect to Beth’s story and buzz about what might have happened.

Last year, they revealed the Rick/Michonne spin off at Comic Con instead of waiting until the coda of the final episode.  I think they should do the same here.

image

The only down side will be certain ships will be mad.  However, as we have seen, they will be upset at almost anything.  I think they could ease this by playing up that this Beth could be very different than the old Beth and that Daryl and Beth are both different people and may not have the connection they did in the past… yada…yada.  We know the symbolism and the end game, but it may appease some.

Thoughts?

TWDMusicBoxMystery:

I really love everything you’ve laid out here. You’ve backed it up with logic and evidence. And obviously, I would totally LOVE it if they revealed her as being alive at ComiCon.

My only hesitation is that now, with the actors’ strike looming, Comicon may be very interrupted or not even happen at all. Unfortunately.

The good news is that at least season 1 of the Daryl spinoff has already been filmed, and I imagine most of season 1 of the Richonne spinoff has been, too. So, hopefully the strike won’t affect our fall shows too much.

But me and my fellow theorists wondered if the reason they suddenly started announcing the air dates for next batches of shows (Daryl Dixon Sept 10, back half of Fear Oct 22) because they know they won’t be able to do it at Comicon. They usually wait until Comicon to reveal the dates and the official trailers.

Anyway, obviously I totally hope you’re right. But we’ll just have to wait and see what Comicon brings us, if anything. And here’s hoping both the writers’ strike and the actors’ strike get resolved soon! Xoxo!  🎆 💘

oh my god. have you seen the new dayrl dixon poster. i saw it in a youtube video, and the slogan!!! ‘hope is not lost’. THAT SCREAMS BETH. the hope isn’t lost that she’s gone. oh my

image

twdmusicboxmystery answered:

Yup! I actually said exactly the same thingn to my fellow theorists when we first saw it.

As @galadrieljones also pointed out, there are doves in the stained glass window on either side of Daryl. A very religious symbol. We could talk about the colors, but I think most people can figure those out for themselves. And along the top of the stained glass window, it says “espoir,” which means hope.

Definitely screams Beth to me. I’m with ya! Xoxo! 🎆💝

Anonymous asked:

I’m convinced that legs from Red Machete is 100% Beth, there’s really no other actresses who stands like that even outside of character except for EK. She’s the only one who really stands like that especially when in-character for Beth. Not to mention how soft, small, and feminine their hands looked; that’s practically how Emily’s hand looks normally. Some people say it’s Rick but that can’t be because Andrew Lincoln does not even stand with his legs positioned like that, it would be slanted and apart from each other.

twdmusicboxmystery answered:

Agreed. And as we’ve said before, even if it turns out to be Beth (and I agree; I think it definitely will be) we still can’t be certain it was Emily in the shot. It may have been, but they may also have used a stand in. The thing is, if they used a stand in, then I’m almost more convinced that it’s her. Because they would have gone out of their way to make the legs and the stance LOOK like Emily.

So, this is just a really round about way of saying I agree with you. I’m actually excited for them to tell us more about Legs. It’s been a LONG time since The Red Machete aired, and we haven’t gotten any other clues about it. (Which also lends itself to Legs being Beth, because if it was just some other random person, they would have revealed their identity by now. Seems to me they’re waiting for…something. 😉)

Anyway, totally agree. Thanks Nonny! Xoxo! 🎆❣️

Daryl Dixon Sneak Peek - Part 1

@wdway:

Guys I have so much to say about the Daryl Dixon preview. I have about a million shots from the preview, and we have an awful lot to talk about. The first that I want to mention and this is not my discovery but it's open my mind to a lot of different things. He did not wash up from the Atlantic Ocean he washed up on shore from the Mediterranean Sea.

image
image

What this means to me is when we see him in that lifeboat he is not in the Atlantic Ocean. He is in a smaller body of water, still a very large body of water, but not the Atlantic Ocean. Still a mystery as to how he got from America to wherever he landed originally, it could be the island that we got the the coordinates from in Fear the canary/dog Island or even Spain, somewhere that he would want to get in a boat and head towards France.

merelymoore asked:

So, I don't know how long now, but I've been a long time follower and soon after a proud member of teamdelusional for a while now. How do you hold on to faith of the symbolism and belief of her being alive? I want her to come back and be with Daryl so bad, it would be one of the best moments of my life. I can imagine cheering and screaming at the screen with my best friend as we watch the episode. But I still have my doubts. I wonder if the show runners are aware of are little corner of the fandom. TWD means a lot to me. I started watching it on my phone nonstop after my mom died. I fell in love with this show profoundly. Thank you for being apart of the fandom, you keep a lot of it alive when the show was dormant at points. And Daryl Dixon is tied with Severus Snape as my favorite character. He means a lot to me. I never want Team Family's story to end. If anything, I love fanfiction for Bethyl, do you read any? Sorry for the randomness of this ask. Have a lovely day and much love. Go Bethyl! P.S What a stunning episode "Still" was. I couldn't believe what I was watching when I saw it for the 1st time. What a damn cool dynamic. 🏹🌻

twdmusicboxmystery answered:

I absolutely loved everything you said here. I loved reading your story and how you fell in love with Daryl and Bethyl and the TWDU. And of course I agree about Still. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!

How do I keep the faith? I keep it because there are so many things that have never been answered. So many strange points that I believe would have been settled if we were wrong or if they had changed their minds somewhere along the way.

image

Honestly, I think faith in Bethyl has become a habit for me, now. Maybe that sounds wholly unromantic, but I almost don’t how NOT to have faith in Beth’s return at this point.

But again, my faith in her return is based in evidence in the show. Stuff that was never fulfilled. Symbolism and foreshadowing that is STILL going. Things that were foreshadowed back in S5 that are just now coming to fruition.

I supposed if I reach the point where I’m 99 and there are 70 seasons of TWDU and she still hasn’t come back, I’ll concede. You know, if I must. 😉 Until then, we soldier on.

I don’t read much fan fiction, mostly due to a lack of time in the day, but I wish I could, and I’m so glad there’s so much of it to keep people’s love alive.

Thanks again for the amazing ask. Xoxo! ☀️💖

Thank you, that was very sweet
